PRESS RELEASE: Cedar Creek Company 2008 – 2009 Financial Results

Dated: Friday 2nd July
2010

Following a protracted delay Cedar Creek Group has completed the
results for Financial Year 2008 - 2009.

The net result of the Group's trading activities for the
financial year was a profit of $600,000.00. This has been an
incredible result for the Group considering that during this period
the Group needed to absorb nearly $3 million of extra-ordinary cost
associated with the acquisition of SASTEK Pty. Ltd. and SASTEK (NZ)
Ltd.

Cedar Creek Company CEO Sean Clitheroe said:

"This was an exceptionally difficult year for the Group as
not only did we need to work through the merge of the two companies
but it was the commencement of the Global economic downturn which
saw falling revenues."

With falling revenues during the Financial Year 2008 - 2009 the
Group needed to reduce staff numbers. This was achieved partly by a
restriction on new and replacement recruitment but also a number of
redundancies were required.

With the end of the Financial Year 2009 - 2010 we are still to
complete these figures however our expectation is to return a
profit similar to the Financial Year 2008 - 2009. This profit is
also on downturned revenue which should be about $13.5 million, 20%
below forecast.

This expected profit was achieved with close scrutiny on all
expenditure. The Group also reviewed all under performing
operations, business unit & assets and commenced a process of
closing and divesting these areas. The majority of this work has
been completed with the last under performing operation to be
finalised in the 1st quarter of the Financial Year 2010
- 2011.

The forecast for the Financial Year 2010 - 2011 is for a 10%
increase in revenues to $15 million, with a profit of about 8.7% of
revenue. The forecast is to maintain current staffing levels and
reduce overall operating expenditure.

The Group has already made some significant changes to the
structure to facilitate a more financial secure future:

Following the resignation of 2 managers within the Group prior
to June 30th 2010, the Group will not be recruiting
replacement but restructuring and absorbing those positions within.
This is expected to bring up to $500,000.00 savings in salaries and
unnecessary expenditure.

The Group has successfully renegotiated with our key bankers to
restructure our financing arrangement which will allow the Group to
reduce the cash pressure and allow better funding to the operations
of the Group.

By the 2nd Quarter, the Group will have recruited a
new Senior Sales Executive to help drive new sales for the
Group.

Significant effort is being made in improving processes around
service delivery to ensure long-term customer satisfaction and
retention.

Sean Clitheroe summarised "The previous 2 years have
been a difficult time within the market place. The Cedar Creek
Group still believe there is at least another 6 months of hard work
ahead of us, but we have made changes to the business that will not
only allow the Group greater opportunity to withstand this period
but to be in a stronger position following."

PRESS RELEASE: Changes to Cedar Creek Software Services

Changes to Cedar Creek Company Software
Services

Dated: Friday 25th June 2010

The recent departures of staff from within the Cedar Creek
Company's Software Development team and executive team has
presented the company with the opportunity to review the operation
of the Software Department and look at the changes necessary to
make it a more responsive operation, delivering effective service
to all our customers.

New Cedar Creek Company CEO, Sean Clitheroe, said of this:

"The company knows that on occasion our Software Department
has not been able to delivery the level of service and support that
is expected, either by us or you, our customers.

Over the course of the next few months the company will be
undertaking several steps to address our service which should be
positive for all our customers."

Software Development Manager

With the recent resignation of Joel Ireland as Software
Development Manager, the company is actively looking at recruiting
a replacement for this position. We are hoping to have this role
filled shortly with the successful applicant starting around the
1st August 2010.

Software Support

For the last 12 months, our software development team and
support team have been managed separately. While this was
undertaken with the best of intentions, the unfortunate result has
been that this has not worked very well and has placed an
unnecessary barrier to our ability to provide effective
support.

With the review of our business process, this has clearly been
identified as the fundamental step that must be taken to improve
the communication channels and streamline our support process.

Over the next month we will be merging these two teams
together.

This will allow us to effectively manage the Software Department
and set realistic priorities that are achievable and fair to all
our customers and set plans that can be communicated to our
customers.

Mary Canniffe who previously managed the Support Team, is taking
a new and important role within the Finance Department of the
company.

SASTEK FoodChain

There has been some confusion within the marketplace in regards
to our continued support of the SASTEK Food Chain system.

It is important we clarify any confusion.

SASTEK FoodChain Version 3 is "end-of-life". While we will
continue to provide basic phone support services to our TCS
customers, there will be no further service patches released. All
development and program corrections have stopped. Customers need to
consider a minimum of an upgrade to SASTEK FoodChain Version 4 to
ensure latest software fixes can be installed.

SASTEK FoodChain Version 4 is still being supported. All
reported faults (software bugs) will continue to be corrected and
future service patches will be released. Minor customisation work
will be undertaken in this version.

Call our help desk to determine the version you are on if you
are unsure.

Future Direction of FoodChain

Cedar Creek will continue to brand all future releases of its
food industry ERP software suite "FoodChain".

The FoodChain suite of software modules currently includes the
Cedar Creek Software system (also known as FoodChain by CCC) and
the SASTEK FoodChain system.

The direction of FoodChain is to merge both products benefits
into a single version of FoodChain, being CCC FoodChain Version
5.

CCC FoodChain 5 will be developed on the current Cedar Creek
Software platform incorporating all the functionality available in
the system but also including all the features and benefits from
the current SASTEK FoodChain system.

We will start planning for CCC FoodChain 5 over the coming
months and hopefully by late-2010 we will be able to release
overview details of the features and functionality that will be
available, with an expectation to have the final
release completed no later than early 2012. (Regular iterative
releases will be available prior to this date)

However customers can continue to gain immediate benefits by
upgrading to the current FoodChain by CCC to take advantage of
modules such as:

Production Scheduling;

Stock Allocations;

Export Documentation;

An expanded Livestock Payments System;

For all Customers who have Software TCS, under your software
maintenance entitlements you are able to take the latest software
releases for all software module licences purchased, these
include:

SASTEK FoodChain Version 3 to SASTEK FoodChain Version 4
(Now);

SASTEK FoodChain Version 3 or 4 to FoodChain by CCC (Now);

SASTEK FoodChain Version 3 or 4 or FoodChain by CCC to CCC
FoodChain Version 5 (When released);

Software Patches for SASTEK FoodChain Version 4 or FoodChain by
CCC;

Future Direction of On-Floor Software
Systems

The On-Floor Software system primarily comprise of:

Kill Floor System: CCC Kill Floor or SASTEK Interm Version
12;

Carton Weigh System: CCC CWS or SASTEK Printerm Version 6;

BRI (Production Input) System: CCC BRI or SASTEK BRI

As with our FoodChain suite, we are also looking at the future
direction of our on-floor software systems and plan to merge both
versions products benefits into a single version:

CCC Interm Version 13;

CCC Printerm Version 7;

CCC BRI Version 3;

These products will be developed on the current Cedar Creek
Software platform incorporating all the functionality available in
the system but also including all the features and benefits from
the current SASTEK FoodChain system.

The fundamental characteristic that will be incorporated into
all these versions of on-floor software is:

The ability to have two-way communication to the main FoodChain
database removing the need for individual supervisors and providing
tight integration to the main FoodChain system;

The ability to continue to run independently in the event of
communication failure on your plant network;

We have already started the development of scope of work and
hopefully by late-2010 we will be able to release overview details
of the features and functionality that will be
available, with a plan to complete the full release in
mid to late 2011.

Continued Commitment

Cedar Creek Company CEO Sean Clitheroe said:

"We will be seeking greater consultation with our users in
assisting in requirements that should be considered in the
products. This could be through direct consultation, webinars or
user group forums.

The long-term future plans (3 - 5 years) for all our
software systems are:

To allow the system to be run on alternate databases
allowing our customers to choose alternate database like Microsoft
SQL Server;

To allow greater flexibility in the useability of the
system with deployment through web-pages or mobile
work-force.

We have always taken pride in both our FoodChain suite of
products and our On-Floor suite of products. They have been written
exclusively to meet the demands of the perishable foods and we
believe they are the best products to manage your
business.

Myself and the Cedar Creek Software are committed to working
with you to ensure our software is the best available and delivers
the functionality that is required to run your business."

Cedar Creek Company CEO to step
down

Dated: Wednesday 16th June
2010

After 11 years as CEO and one of the founding Directors of Cedar
Creek Company, Tony Abbott has decided to step down from the
company to pursue other personal projects, finishing on
30th June 2010.

The company wishes to take a moment to acknowledge Tony's
accomplishments during this period. The strength, power and
features that have been brought into the company's Cedar Creek
software suite of products would have been difficult to do without
Tony's input and direction.

Tony has been respected for his enthusiasm, passion and vision
for the software product and his departure will change the way the
company manages our software development effort in the future.

We would like to thank Tony for his efforts and contributions to
the company over the years.

Tony with continue to assist the company in a limited capacity

has been involved with.

AMIC 2009

Our recent AMIC trade show stand had an interesting result, with
this write up on the AMIC Website (www.amicconference.com)

"The Trade Exhibition was
fully booked with all 23 booths taken up. Unofficial winner of the
best at show was the Cedar Creek display with rotating plastic
carcases, demonstrating the operation of a number of their digital
recording systems. A visiting Japanese tourist coming out of the
elevator nearby mistook these as an actual slaughter chain in
operation and started yelling at the top of her voice. It needed
AMIC Conference staff to convince her that the carcases were only
plastic!"

title="Cedar Creek past Newsletters">HERE

Jean Cannon who runs the energy management consultancy
EnviroAction www.enviro-action.com) sent a recent email entitled
"Stability is just an illusion". Jean went on to talk about the
pace of climate change and what we all should be doing to counter
this and build sustainable processes in our businesses.

The message is relevant across every aspect of our businesses.
If we believe that nothing will change and act accordingly then we
will be left behind by the pace of change. It is incumbent on each
and every one of us as business owners and managers to plan for
change and to put into place systems and processes that will allow
our businesses to not only cope with but, hopefully, to profit from
the ever changing environments we work within.

Product innovation and productivity gains are key to keeping
ahead of the changing market and economic conditions. In our target
market, the food processing sector, those businesses that continue
to succeed in the current economic climate are those that focus on
and are willing to invest in these areas.

Cedar Creek Company continues to work with its customers to
provide innovative solutions and systems that will contribute to
these efforts. Recent months have been very busy for the entire
team at Cedar Creek with significant projects undertaken. We have
been engaged in major upgrade projects with existing customers and
have been rolling out our distribution software across multiple
sites for one of Australia's most significant poultry
operations.

The successful handling of multiple projects across Australia
and New Zealand at the same time is testament to the strengths of
our Project, Technical and Professional Services teams. Credit must
go to all of them and the hard work that they have all put in over
recent months. Credit is also due to those customers and their
people who have worked with our staff to ensure successful
projects.

I believe that the best outcomes that we can deliver for our
customers come from working in partnership to identify business
needs and to add value through the systems we deploy. From this we
derive our profits and our pride.

Sunset Equipment Program 2009

Each year Cedar Creek Company ("CCC") (and formerly Sastek)
review all equipment that has been supplied and serviced to
identify equipment that can no longer be supported.

This equipment will be termed "Sunset" and will no longer be
supported under any service agreement, where possible CCC has
identified suitable upgrade option for each piece of equipment and
the estimated cost of the replacement equipment.

Generally sunset equipment is at least 4 years old, the original
manufacturer does not build any longer and the original
manufacturer has advised CCC that they will also cease support of
this equipment.

CCC would like to work with all our customers who have equipment
that is on the sunset list to upgrade to the newest supported
hardware equipment to ensure we can continue to support your
operations.

Spare parts stock for any Sunset equipment will no longer be
maintained and CCC will no longer pre-order, parts will only be
ordered when required and subject to availability and delivery
times.

If you have question in regards to equipment you currently have
under contract, please do not hesitate to contact our sales team,
our service team or myself for any assistance.

March 09 Newsletter - News @ Cedar Creek Ccompany

Check out our latest Newsletter HERE

Ten years on and, as our masthead
this newsletter issue suggests, we are in turbulent times.

This month sees Cedar Creek Company
celebrate its tenth birthday marking a significant milestone for
any company. Of course, with our acquisition last year of Sastek,
we now have product heritage, customers and staff spanning more
than two decades.

As I look back over the past and
contemplate the significant investment our shareholders made just
on the eve of the world economic meltdown I sometimes ask myself;
"did we do the right thing?".
The answer always remains, "yes we did". We have a strong team, a
strong product set and a great range of customers.

One of the major rationales for the
acquisition was that the two companies would prove stronger
together. This is certainly proving to be the case. We are
beginning to reap the benefits of the lower cost base we now have,
and can focus on the future benefits of the merger.

Of course I would be lying or our
company would be a surprising exception if I were to say that the
world economic situation is not having an effect on our business.
Of course it is. Times are tough out there and we are all being
affected by the real and imagined changing of the world as we knew
it.

We can deal with this in two ways.
One, the Chicken Little strategy employed by most of the world's
populist media; that is, run around declaring that the sky is
falling. Or, we can work to set ourselves up ready for when the
economy moves forward again. We have chosen the latter
strategy.

Cedar Creek Company provides
solutions that assist our customers to run their business in more
efficient, productive ways. We have solutions that businesses need
in times like these and will continue to work with our business
partners to come through these times better and stronger.

GS1 Databar offers greater traceability

GS1 Databar offers greater traceability

This Story, written by Jet Rooke, was published in the Fruit & Vegetable News in May 2008.

Courtesy of Growcom’s Fruit and Vegetable News magazine

Momentum is growing for Australian fruit and vegetable growers to adopt an international electronic labelling standard for data exchange and improved supply chain traceability.

GS1 Australia, a not-for-profit organisation that locally administers a global multi-industry standards of identification and communication for products and services, is rolling out a new family of bar codes that will improve how fresh produce is tracked within the supply chain along with many other benefits.

Previously known as Reduced Space Symbology (RSS) bar codes, GS1 has renamed the coding system, GS1 Databar, to minimise confusion with Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds now available from web sites.

There are several types of GS1 Databar bar codes which will enable more information to be recorded about the produce than is possible than with the current four digit Price Look Up (PLU) codes. The bar code is small enough to fit on the conventional stickers applied to many fruit items in particular.

GS1 Databar is capable of identifying and tracing individual pieces of produce from packhouse to retailer, and when a batch number is incorporated into on-farm systems, from harvest to retailer.

These new barcodes have not yet been introduced within Australian horticulture, although approximately 100 Coles stores across Australia already have the hardware in place to read Databar.

Thanks to legislation such as the US Bioterrorism Act of 2002 which followed the terrorist events of September 11, 2001, and similar legislation in Europe, traceability systems of a higher level of sophistication to anything seen in Australia are being introduced into these countries.

GS1 Databar is taking off in the US. US retailing giants Wal-Mart and Loblaws are rolling out GS1 Databar with their suppliers.

In the latest move, the Dutch Produce Association (DPA), which represents 98 per cent of Dutch fruit and vegetable production, has announced that as of October this year pallet labels and packaging notes will be printed according to the GS1 standard.

Richard Bennett at Horticulture Australia Limited (HAL) is the Chairman of AusPIC, the industry produce identification committee which consists of representatives of growers, category managers, wholesalers and retailers.

Mr Bennett said that manual traceability systems began more than 10 years ago in Australia.

“The industry and retailers also use a system of PLU codes, which are on the familiar labels consumers see on loose produce such as apples, oranges and kiwi fruit,” said Mr Bennett.

“The codes on these labels, when keyed in at the point of sale, identify the produce as a medium Pink Lady™ apple, for example, the terminal contains the price per kilogram and calculates the sale price,” he said.

“This enables outlets to manage their inventory. Prices and produce are keyed in at the start of the day when a consignment arrives. The information can be used to re-order stock and measure sales.

“However, loose fresh produce progress through a checkout register is relatively slow because the information needs to be manually input and there is a higher chance of human error. Picture a bag of tomatoes compared to a can of soup.

“Increased consumer demand for more information about food purchases and where the food has originated is a big part of the push for ever greater levels of traceability.

“The 2006 salmonella scare allegations in the rockmelon industry highlighted the difficulties in tracing produce after it was repacked and rehandled a number of times.

“It was not always possible to identify the packhouse or supplier of particular produce at the retail end of the chain. In addition, the journey from the paddock to the packhouse was not always easily traceable.

“Collectively, the industry needs to bite the bullet and introduce the new systems. That’s not to take anything away from those packhouse managers who are already doing a brilliant job with a manual system or with one of the many computer-based systems available. Better businesses are already creating improved internal efficiencies by combining production, consignment, invoicing and other activities to their traceability system. By using GS1 standards businesses will be able to increase their internal capability and supply chain visibility.

“In Australia the aim is to introduce GS1 Databar by 2010 across the horticulture and many other industries. However, nobody is underestimating the size of the job to do this.”

Mr Bennett said a number of local software developers and solution providers were available to growers with at least four companies in Shepparton alone.

A national company and Growcom corporate member Cedar Creek, says traceability systems can provide the grower with:

improved payment schedules, matched to product quality

market impact information

better planning matched to market forecasts and or order requirements

capacity to add value to other parts of the supply chain by sharing information

multiple use of information for a number of purposes: pack house management, quality assurance, supply chain management, production feedback, compliance and consumer feedback

improved consumer confidence through the assurance of quality and safety.

Cedar Creek CEO Tony Abbott said that traceability using this system enabled businesses to trace backwards to identify the origin of product and to facilitate its recall when food safety and quality standards are breached.

“The GS1 system gives you confidence to say: yes, there was a problem in a particular batch of food and we can trace that back to where it came from and also forward to where associated batches may have gone.”

Mr Bennett and GS1 Australia are seeking interest from major producers, particularly those supplying an export market such as the USA, to conduct a pilot project with the GS1 Databar technology. An industry pilot is likely to be established in 2009.

New ALcode P - Pallet Applicator

At the 22nd edition of SIMEI - the International Oenological and Bottling Equipment Exhibition - which took place in the new exhibition pole of "Fieramilano" Rho-Pero from 13-17 November, ALTECH presented on its Stand H01-K02, Hall 15, its new ALcode P. This print/apply system represents a particularly interesting evolution in the field of pallet labelling machines.

The external structure of the new machine has been redesigned and is now more ergonomic, thanks to the control panel smartly integrated in the protection cabinet and the (optional) touch screen panel that allows to manage the information to be printed and the applicator logic.

Following the introduction of this new structure, it is now possible to choose between two application devices:

· The first device is the traditional ALTECH applicator with orthogonal axes, which moves on solid rolling guides and can apply labels on two (front + side ) or three (front + side + back) faces of a pallet. Such an applicator, which can label pallets of different sizes in real time, is one of the classics of ALTECH production, and the dozens of units already installed show its reliability and versatility in the most diverse applications and working environments.

· The second applicator was designed “from scratch” from an original idea of ALTECH designers and offers a simplified, more economical solution for the application of two labels (front + side) on pallets of the same size. This system is equally reliable and capable of labelling pallets of irregular shapes and sizes. The application device, which features an innovative application arm with a “rotating” movement and can be activated via the motor, represents a real novelty at the exhibition: it can label both pallet faces with only one stop, is operated via scanner control and enables the repetition of the application cycle if one of them has not been successful.

ALTECH Srl at Bareggio (MI) is a top international manufacturer of material labelling and identification systems, which it distributes all over the world.Cedar Creek Company represents Altech within the Australian & New Zealand marketplace.

Please contact Cedar Creek for further information.

ALTECH at INTERPACK 2008

From 24 to 30 April, on its stand B23 (Hall 12) at Düsseldorf’s INTERPACK, ALTECH will highlight a remarkable host of self-adhesive label applicators. From the simple and economic ALstep and the more sophisticated ALritma heads, through the ALcode and ALritma T print/apply systems, up to the increasingly more advanced ALsleeve and ALline models.
ALstep is a compact-sized and low-cost label applicator for self-adhesive labels, designed to be easily integrated into existing, low-production packaging lines.

ALritma is an advanced self-adhesive label applicator based on an innovative mechanical structure which can match sturdiness with versatility and modularity. This model, whose machine body is IP55 rated, is characterized by high performances and great accuracy.

The ALTECH print / apply units allow to codify products by means of labels that are printed when applied; it is possible to print variable data, bar codes, graphics, and product information which can be sent from a remote system.

ALcode is an industrial print/apply unit allowing a great number of codifications in real time using self-adhesive labels.

Alcode P is a pallet labeling system able to apply two labels (front and side) onto pallets of the same size, without compromising its reliability or the possibility of labelling pallets of differing shapes and dimensions. The application device, particularly innovative in the “rotating” mechanism of its arm activated via a motor, will be the great innovation presented at the fair: it makes it possible to label both faces of a pallet with a single stop and, for both labels, it ensures the scanner check and the repetition of the application cycle if one has failed.

ALsleeve is a unit designed to apply plastic shrink sleeves that provide effective tamper evident seals over caps and lids for food, cosmetic and chemical products.

Suitable for labeling one or two sides of rectangular or oval products, ALline E is a modular system which can be equipped with several devices to solve specific labeling problems at high production speeds.

ALTECH Srl, based in Bareggio (Milan) is a leading manufacturer of material labelling and identification systems, which it distributes all over the world.

Cedar Creek Company represents Altech within the Australian & New Zealand marketplace.
