Boning Room System (BRS)

The Boning Room System software comprises of the Boning Room Production In-feed module, the Weigh/Label System and the Yield & Recovery Analysis module. The Boning Room In-feed and Weigh/Label System software modules utilise data from Cedar Creek's:
  • Specification & Label Control module and
  • Production Scheduling & Control module
Our Boning Room System facilitates traceability of products during processing by recording:
  • Each carcass Product ID
  • Its exact time of entry into the boning production room
  • Its run and batch allocations and
  • Each carton ID including the exact time of packing

Boning Room Production In-feed (BRI)

Our systems specify a BRI station at the entry to each boning room. Each station consists of a Cedar Creek Touchscreen terminal with a tethered barcode scanner, and will interface with a track scale/indicator to weigh carcasses into the boning room. The [BRI] PI system allows:
  • Boning run set-up
  • Boning run summaries
  • Boning room reconciliation reports
  • Validation of specific [carcasses] products.
  • Receive carcass product by scale
  • Scan tickets to remove inventory
  • Calculate boning points for staff payments
Each BRI station can perform the following multiple functions:
  • Boning Production Room In-feed.  Room input gathers all necessary input data for boning room performance and recovery analysis data.
  • Chiller Performance & Weight Loss Reporting. The system will produce weight loss reports by carcass covering live weight, graded weight, hot de-fat weight and post chiller weight.
  • Boner Numbers and Tally. BRI provides the ability to allocate boner numbers per chain, compute chain speed accordingly, to keep track of tally points and provide tally reporting by chain and by shift.
  • Transformations (Quartering). The operator can pick the rib site at which the cut is made and the system will then choose the appropriate fore and hindquarter product codes for the resulting pieces.
  • Chiller Assessment. Chiller assessment data can be downloaded from RF Handheld Terminals or from Viascan systems or input via the Touchscreen.
