Rapid Dispenser Labeller (RDL)
The RDL is a high-speed labeller suitable for labelling clam-shell punnets or packages that are rapidly transported on conveyor belts. The unit is designed for industrial situations that require product labelling in-line or on an assembly belt. The RDL is a non-contact applicator, made of aluminium with a powder coated surface, which fits with a label printer such as an Intermec PF4i or PF2i by way of attachment to the base plate of the printer.
The RDL has only one moving part – this is an air valve. Therefore maintenance is minimal and reliability is assured. For ease of label replacement, the RDL is positioned away from the printer cabinet door.
The RDL is configured to connect to the front of a thermal label printer. The labelling concept is based upon a double acting air amplifier which simplifies and enhances label application whilst reducing air consumption. The label is dispensed by the label printer onto the face of the air amplifier (applicator) and is held there by suction. The label is then released and a shot of air propels the label onto the target surface.
The RDL is powered by way of an external power-pack. This power-pack operates using mains power 115/230 volts. External air is required at 6-bar (90 psi).
