RFID hook tracking provides complete data integrity from the kill
floor, through the boning room and to the
quarter load-out.
Each hook contains an embedded RFID tag onto which a unique
identity is assigned. When a carcase is attached to it, both hook
and meat travel through the production facility together.
Scanners in key locations throughout the abattoir keep a track
of the tag's movement as it is passes through various processes,
allowing the collation of key data for each specific animal.

The ability to accurately track a carcase from the knock box to
the grading scales across the fastest and challenging beef, pork,
lamb and small stock processing floors is available with Cedar
Creek Company's bodyTRACE carcase correlation system. The system
utilises a stand-alone SCADA control system and integrated RFID
transponders / readers systems.
It is both flexible and modular, making use of existing on-floor
system investments and further closes the loop for bobby calf,
sheep and goat traceability delivering full NLIS tracking
capability to the grading scales.
The operational challenges of dropped bodies, inverted chains, hide
puller, retain, condemns and broken hooks all provide issues that
in past have deterred processors from moving away from 'Mob / Lot'
