Stand Alone Applicator
The "standard" or base model AutoApply System is our Stand Alone Applicator. In contrast to most other printer/applicators, our Systems are notable for their compact size and clean, integrated design, and the Stand Alone model is no exception. As its name imples, it is designed to stand beside an existing conveyor line and to be installed with a minimum of fuss.
This model is self-contained and is built around a sturdy frame (in either powdercoated mild steel or stainless steel) on a four-point base (with either lockable castors or adjustable feet). Accordingly, installation is simplified and it can be easily moved to a new location, just requiring single-phase power and process air connections.
Like all AutoApply Systems, the Stand Alone model uses “off the shelf” Intermec industrial printers to produce the labels and to control the applicator. This ensures high performance, ease of maintenance and minimal downtime, with swift and simple changes of media rolls and printheads, and complete printer swap-outs in minutes.
This model shares the AutoApply System methodology of a vacuum wheel on the end of a jointed arm taking the labels from the printer before “wiping” them gently onto the items to be labelled. This makes the Stand Alone Applicator very versatile and means that one machine can apply either one or two labels to one side or two adjacent sides of an item, allowing EAN-compliant labelling.
The Stand Alone Applicator is run by CCC's on-board Control Software, which handles all printing and mechanical actuation tasks. Operator input is via the control console, with keyboard and LCD display, allowing product/label selection and batch setup. Alternatively, especially where the client has a large number of product and labels, batch setup and management of product/label data can be carried out remotely using CCC's optional Print Server software.
Options available for this model include: a choice of printer models and configurations (different print widths, speeds, and resolutions; direct thermal or thermal transfer); warning light/alarm towers; barcode verification scanners; and larger external label supply units. We can also provide Applicators with integrated powered conveyor units and indexing.
