The VIAscan® Technology is a world leading technology
providing accurate and objective on-line measurement of carcase
yield and quality of beef and lamb carcases. Based on state
of the art vision technology, VIAscan® objectively
measures and records prescribed carcase characteristics to:
- determine individual carcase value
- optimise production and carcase utilisation.

How does VIAscan help me make
money?
Objectively measured carcase quality and yield attributes are
used with enhanced confidence to improve buyer performance and
reduce risk, particularly in a competitive buying situation.
- Reduce human quality grading errors and improve consistency
both within and between plants.
- Use accurate VIAscan yield predictions to select appropriate
carcases and thereby minimize boning labour costs when production
orders require low fat levels.
- The use of objectively measured carcase yield as feedback and
pricing tools for procurement of stock will shift supply towards
higher yielding carcases resulting in higher boning room
yields.
- Ability to have objectively determined benchmark information to
draw performance comparisons between shifts and plants will result
in better management of boning room yields.
- Provision of benchmark information to suppliers to allow them
