VIAscan Chiller Assessment System
The VIAscan Chiller Assessment System
objectively measures the critical attributes of each carcase that
affect quality and yield. This system utilizes a colour video
camera in a portable handpiece to assess the eye muscle of a
quartered carcase. The handpiece is connected to a computer
mounted in a fixed location (for application in a grading
station).
What are the features of the
System?
The VIAscan Chiller Assessment System can be integrated with
on-floor information and grading systems to provide seamless and
unparalleled objective input onto grading and carcase utilization
decisions. The features of this system include:

What does it measure?
The VIAscan Chiller Assessment System objectively measures and
reports:
- Marbling, Meat Colour, Fat Colour, Eye Muscle Area, Total Rib
Fat Depth.
- Saleable Meat Yield
This system is also able to report partial scores for Meat and
Fat Colour and Marbling, as well as the fineness and distribution
of marbling.
